The oven itself. Six and a half litres, cooks while you drive, and has a proper door latch so nothing falls out when the track gets rough. Road Chef Genuine Baking Tray (BTRCL12VO)
Do not skip this. If you're cooking anything fatty or marinated without the tray, the juices hit the bottom of the oven and bake themselves on. Out at Sofala, along the Bridle Track, wherever you end up camping near Sydney or further out through NSW without running water, cleaning a baked-on oven floor is not a fun time. Wolf & Nugget 4WD Velcro Patch
Stick it on your drawers, your car trip, wherever that'll take velcro. It means something to the people who get it and means nothing to the people who don't, which is exactly right.
How to Use This Setup
Set the oven to 120-150°C. Put food in cold. Let it run 90-120 minutes while you drive. Line the tray or the racks with foil for easy cleanup. That's genuinely it. Whether you're heading out for a weekend of dog friendly camping near Sydney or a longer NSW run, you'll figure out your own rhythm after the first couple of trips.
Wire it direct to your aux battery via Anderson plug. Skip the cigarette lighter adapter for anything longer than a short run.
