Honest context from someone who runs the 6.6L in their VW Amarok: cooking low and slow at 120–150°C solved most of the 'no top heat' limitations for everyday camp cooking. Dual Elements - Choose Your Heat
Top element only: nachos, pizza, anything needing heat from above. Bottom only: baking scones, bread, things needing heat from below. Both together: roasting, large cuts of meat, full heat all around. If you've seen channels like Baked In My Car and thought 'yeah, i want to cook like that!' The Big Bertha is what you're after!
Each element draws 10A / 120W independently. Both together: 20A / 240W. Because of that draw, Big Bertha is Anderson plug only: no cigarette lighter. Minimum wiring: 6mm² for runs up to 2m, 8mm² for 2–5m. Get it installed properly.
